Now this is what I call a golden combination! A STG and Rhythem game! 8)
The game is a 2D horizontal shooter where you need to also shoot the falling down notes, which keeps the music playing. It works rather well, the regular shooting commences while with bosses or other intervals you get a ‘guitar hero’-type rhythm game where you need to press the right lanes at the right moment.
Furthermore it has most of the basic elements in place, like the power-up items to strengthen, and wide shots, missiles, lasers, spread bombs, high-tension mode (turning enemy bullets into score items (coins)).
Above all it is all glued together with funny chatty characters, which is all quite enjoyable.
For a free game it is recommendable to give it a try.
